I don’t know if there’s already a thread for this but I saw on French Film Twitter that it was a trend. I was wondering what is to you the best and worst Palme d’Or !

I haven’t seen a lot but I would say (with a shameless recency bias) :

    Best :

    Blue is the Warmest Color

    Apocalypse Now

    Parasite

    Winter Sleep

    4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days

    Worst :

    Elephant

    The White Ribbon

    Rosetta

    Under the Sun of Satan

    Why 😩

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike it! It’s just a bit too melodramatic for my taste and I find it to be rather average in comparison to the other winners I’ve seen, which are not very much anyway.

I think it’s cool that Wild at Heart won the Palme.

Ironically, I’m a big David Lynch fan, but Wild at Heart is my least favorite in his filmography. Not a film I would bestow accolades for. I haven’t seen a ton of the winners yet, but Pulp Fiction is one of my favorite movies.
