Last year all four winners here got in at the Oscars, didn’t they?
This is either a massive accuracy drop or we are in for some surprises.

    - Best Director
    - Best Original Screenplay
    - Best Actor (Winston Duke)

    - Best Supporting Actor (Benedict Wong)

It’s so funny how you’re desperate to mock and laugh at people, meanwhile everyone is overjoyed at the overperformance of movies like Never Rarely Sometimes Always and performances like Flanigan and Garner.

I hope to movie Gods Flannigan gets nominated. But don’t forget, critics awards aren’t the same as the Oscars. The industry awards tend to be more predictive. Look at how many awards Toni Collette got for Hereditary or Ethan Hawke for First Reformed. Look at how many published critics awards Rami Malek WON before sweeping his way to winning Oscar.

Even if she doesn’t get nominated, I’m sure one day she will. This was her first movie ever and she was unbelievably amazing. Imagine what can be next.. You go girl!!

Good for Flanigan! Would so love her to sneak into the noms. Would be very deserving.

No Critics Circle is an independent indicator. They can only be looked at collectively. NY also gave Film to The Irishman last year. In 2018 they gave Best Actor and Actress to Hawke and Hall, despite having gotten all 4 winners from 2017 in.

I think I didn’t phrase it correctly. I didn’t mean to say that they are some impressive precursor or anything. Just that it’s funny that they chose interestingly this year when last year’s choices were pretty Academy-friendly (apart from Lupita)

Ah, forgot Phantom Thread missed out on screenplay. Good catch. It did get a ton of noms, so NRSA is still looking good, if not for screenplay, possibly actress.
