Interesting how since January 6th, The Trial of the Chicago 7 has seen a massive surge in support from critic groups. We’re already seeing the effects of the capitol riots and the second impeachment of Donald Trump on the Oscar race.
As usual you’re exaggerating.

They aren’t all bad come on. Happy for Raci, Cooke, Zhao.

I wouldn’t call it a massive surge but yeah, it’s performing better in the last few days. Unfortunately, I can’t see how it won’t be big contender. I think even Directing is happening. This shit doesn’t deserve anything at all.

Acting wise they were good but the rest… I’ll pass. And I can’t take seriously any group/anyone who thinks TTOTC7 is deserving of a BP win.
January 13, 2021 at 2:16 pm #1203982234I might be in the minority here, but I don’t think Olivia Cooke was very good in Sound of Metal.
The only thing I remember about her was the bleached eyebrows.

As usual you’re exaggerating.
Chicago 7 went from winning absolutely nothing with critics to winning several major awards including at least two ‘Film of the Year” awards. I would call that a massive surge.

Also, it’s great to see WW84 get thrashed by these critic awards (even though Artemis Fowl deserves to win all of the “Worst Film of the Year” prizes).

I imagine it’s Director v Picture. Not sure why it looks like they’re awarding Florian Zeller personally and not the film. I’d assume that the “Best First Film” is intended to go to a film, which happens to be the first one made by someone.
January 13, 2021 at 5:54 pm #1203982440Does anyone have a link to that page that was collecting a list of all the critics nominations and wins?

They list “2nd place”? LMAO as if that’s an actual win of any kind. There is no “2nd place” award.
