There are a bunch of deserving films, actors, and actresses out there in contention for Oscars. But there are also some that have no mentions at all. Reply with films, actors, and actresses that you feel deserve a nomination but who are criminally underhyped (specifically, 100/1 or lower odds on Gold Derby).
Me? I don’t see Mads Mikkelsen (Arctic) mentioned as in contention anywhere, but I really think he needs a Best Actor nod.December 8, 2019 at 2:28 pm #1203224812
Christian Bale in FvF and Robert Pattinson in The Lighthouse are 2 of my favorite performances of the year. I’m sad they’re not getting more love here (though Bale at least has some awards nominations).

Downton Abbey for BP and especially for Robert James-Collier and Dame Maggie Smith. DA is my favorite movie of 2019.
Emma Thompson for Late Night for Actress.
Helen Mirren and Ian McKellan in The Good Liar for Actress and Actor.
Still waiting to see several more movies before locking things in but those I have mentioned quickly come to mind for me.
Two of my favorite lead actresses were in 2018 French movies I didn’t see until July 2019: Virginie Efira for An Impossible Love, and Elodie Bouchez for In Safe Hands – don’t know if they are Oscar eligible or not.December 8, 2019 at 2:30 pm #1203224826
Jonathan Pryce for The Two Popes
Alfre Woodard for Clemency
FYC: Best Actor - Jonathan Pryce for The Two PopesDecember 8, 2019 at 2:32 pm #1203224834
Hustlers should be an across the contender (Picture, Screenplay, Costumes, Editing, Sound Mixing) not just an actor play. Haven’t been this upset but an “just an actor” since Wild in 2014.December 8, 2019 at 2:34 pm #1203224838
Jessie Buckley and Julie Walters should be running away with notices for Wild Rose. Truly two of the best performances (male or female) of the year, period.December 8, 2019 at 2:34 pm #1203224846
Jimmie Fails for Actor in The Last Black Man In San Francisco.
Would also LOVE the film to show up in cinematography.December 8, 2019 at 2:36 pm #1203224857
Jessie Buckley, Wild Rose
Mindy Kaling, Late Night
Micheal B. Jordan, Just Mercy
Brad Pitt, Ad AstraDecember 8, 2019 at 2:39 pm #1203224859
Mikey Madison gave the best supporting performance in OUATIH as Sadie Atkins. Her monologue in the car is the highlight of the film.December 8, 2019 at 2:42 pm #1203224863
Alfre Woodard (Clemency)
Jamie Foxx (Just Mercy)
Dame Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey)December 8, 2019 at 2:43 pm #1203224869
Alfre Woodard (Clemency)December 8, 2019 at 3:02 pm #1203224941
The Lighthouse across the board, but especially screenplay, sound editing, score and both its actors (I say both because while Willem is in the predicted top 5 for supporting actor, he should be in the conversation to win lead actor).
Elisabeth Moss and Agyness Deyn in Her SmellDecember 8, 2019 at 3:03 pm #1203224948
The SouvenirDecember 8, 2019 at 3:05 pm #1203224953
I would add Penelope Cruz and the actor whose name I can never quite remember who has the long monologue in Pain & Glory (:
