What films have you seen that when you first heard of you wouldn’t have thought that they could be so related?

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Dolomite Is My Name

Two great films that feature great acting, and are about the hustle and struggles of movie making.
And as if on cue, both feature references to Bruce Lee and Roman Polanski and his Rosemary’s Baby and mentions of playing “the heavy”.

I would not have thought that they’d be so related.

Not that they’re related at all, just that they made an iconic double bill at my friend’s birthday party

Perhaps not too surprising because they’re both musicals that are set in the midst of the rise of fascism in Europe but Cabaret and The Sound of Music.

I was joking lol. The two films have a stark contrast in how women rely on friendships for fulfillment. I recently watched both films back to back and it was amusing, yet incredibly jarring.

Aren’t both of these films inspired by Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze’s divorce?
