Absolutely this year gonna be huge fight between Fincher VS Sorkin

Fincher really brings me to the 40’s, everything in this film is perfect,

in other hand Sorkin film is great

Im gonna vote Fincher for best director

and Trial of Chicago 7 for best picture

    what do you think guys???

Chloe in Nomadland : something missing from this film sometimes i feel like im watching documentary , the actor in this film make me lil bit confuse dont know who is the correct acting between Francess vs Nomad society actor, huge gap acting between them

I didn’t care for Mank but I hate Chicago 7. So it’s quite easy for me.

Fincher is a director, while Sorkin is not. Another easy point.

Yes, when pigs fly. (But he might though)

Imagine in a year with multiple award worthy female directors in contention and they give the win to either Fincher or Sorkin…lol! It’d be such an academy thing to do

I hated Mank. But Fincher deserve 1 Oscar for his career. Like Scorsese in the old times

Not at the expense of another who made a much worthier movie and is more deserving. Fincher may deserve AN oscar, but not Zhao’s.

How one could ask at this point in the race which of these films would win Best Director is beyond me. Do you still think Chloé came to lose?

    FYC:

Lead Actor: Mads Mikkelsen (Another Round)

Supporting Actress: Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm)

Supporting Actor: Paul Raci (Sound of Metal)

Neither will win Best Director and Aaron Sorkin won’t even be nominated.

What is the point of this thread when neither Fincher or Sorkin are winning and neither are going to even be second?

FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"
