Who was the closer to get a nomination and who should have been the one to get a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1994 for the movie Forrest Gump?

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

So weird they missed. I guess BAFTA + SAG > Globe + SAG, so Field was probably closer. I don’t think any of the two deserved a nomination but if I had to choose, I’d go with Wright.

Neither deserved, especially in that lineup. I guess Field was closer to cracking the five.

I would say the opposite: GG + SAG > BAFTA + SAG. Mostly because the BAFTAs were after the Oscars back then so they probably didn’t influentiate much as they do now.

Ugh, forgot BAFTA used to do their own thing and much better than the Oscars. You are probably right.

I just realised, if both actresses had been nominated like at SAG, Forrest Gump would be the most-nominated film ever at the Oscars (barf).
