As we all know, there are two Presidents who acted in films prior to being elected: Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.

Although Reagan was the only one of the two to be a PROFESSIONAL actor, Trump, unlike Reagan, has actually won a major award for an acting performance. Except it was a Razzie.

In 1991, Trump won the Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actor for his extended cameo in “Ghosts Can’t Do It.” Directed by John Derek and starring Anthony Quinn and Bo Derek, “Ghosts Can’t Do It” is widely considered to be one of the worst films of the 1980s (the film was first released outside the US in October 1989, but it didn’t premiere in the US until June 1990, hence its eligibility for the 1991 Razzies).

The basic plot of the film has Quinn and Derek playing a married couple. Quinn commits suicide because he can’t have sex anymore following a heart attack. The rest of the film involves Derek trying to find a younger man for Quinn’s ghost to possess in order for him to have sex with her again. The result? A complete mess. A 2.3 rating on IMDB. A 12% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

And in addition to Trump’s win for Worst Supporting Actor, at the Razzies the film also won Worst Picture (tied with “The Adventures of Ford Fairlane”), Worst Director (John Derek), and Worst Actress (Bo Derek). It was also nominated for Worst Supporting Actor (Leo Damian), Worst Supporting Actress (Julie Newmarr), Worst Screenplay, Worst New Star (Leo Damian), and Worst New Star (Donald Trump).

and he sort of contributed to an Oscar winning performance…….I always felt Michael Douglas’ hair in Wall Street must have been a little nod to Trump who also wore his in that slick backed way back then.

Burt Young should’ve won for Rocky V.

THE OSCAR 100 (#65-61): Angela Lansbury, Shirley MacLaine, Vivien Leigh, Jane Darwell and Faye Dunaway

I’ve still never seen Ghosts Can’t Do It, but I’ve never heard a single positive thing about it.

The title itself and the explanation for it are just horrid.
