Normally I roll my eyes when articles claim that an actor is “unrecognisable” in a role, because it’s hardly ever true. But this time it actually is, at least judging by the photo in the linked article below. I truly would not have realised this was Gary Oldman if I hadn’t known.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Gary.

I’d say he’s often ‘unrecognisable’ in his roles.

This time there could be some Oscar-gravitas to get him some attention.

Oldman is the male Glenn Close without the multiple nominations. The world chose Streep over Close. The same as Day-Lewis being chosen over Oldman.
