    • Elisabeth Moss could be this year’s Pike (critically adored by vastly under-seen)

Thats a good shout. If Mirren’s movie flops, I may just predict her.

I read on Awards Daily or Awards Circuit — can’t remember which one — that The Farewell won’t be eligible for Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the Globes because of it being mostly in a foreign language. Is this true?

Fuck, The Farewell being considered foreign ruins my 92/1 odds I got for that in Comedy.

Copypasting the list so the article doesn’t have to be read

Musical/comedy: Booksmart (Annapurna), Cats (Universal), Dolemite Is My Name (Netflix), Good Boys (Universal), Hustlers (STX), Jojo Rabbit (Fox Searchlight), Knives Out (Lionsgate), Late Night (Amazon), The Laundromat (Netflix), Long Shot (Lionsgate), Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (Sony), The Peanut Butter Falcon (Roadside), Rocketman (Paramount), Uncut Gems (A24), What Men Want (Paramount), Where’d You Go Bernadette? (Annapurna), Yesterday (Universal)

Awkwafina is coming for that Globe. Popes going Drama is a big mistake.

I’d argue The Lighthouse going Drama is also a mistake. That film’s funnier than Once Upon a Time in Hollywood or The Laundromat that’s for sure.

HFPA wouldn’t touch The Lighthouse anyway tbh.

    And the Comedy winners are:

Oscar-nominee Awkwafina . Also, I’m pressed that I’m about to lose my 100/1 on The Farewell lol.

“No user starts this shady” - someone culturally relevant.

Also got banned because...reasons? So, I guess ciao.

YES!!! Now that Bombshell is Drama, Awkwafina is so winning.

I wonder if Bombshell could get in Drama Film.

the big takeaways for me are bombshell and the two popes going drama. That means,

      – Charlize could get two gg noms: long shot and bombshell

      – Awkwafina is soooo winning the the comedy globe and likely cements her status to make the final 5 oscar lineup

      – Jonathan Pryce could miss out in drama which is hella competitive and that dampens his Oscar nom chances significantly

Jonathan Pryce lost what could be an easy win for him. If HFPA really likes The Two Popes it might even have taken the Comedy Film. Now it’ll settle as a nominee at best
