Why are you predicting News of the World in Score? James Newton Howard is overdue but Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are double nominated.

I am actually predicting Mank but what I did was I copied and pasted the format that forwardswill posted and edited my predictions into each category but forgot to edit Score.

I feel very confident in Mank winning.

    Final who will/could/should win predictions:

    DRAMA FILM

Will win: I’ve decided to predict Nomadland. No female directed film ever won here and seems like this is the year of the female filmmakers at the Globes. If Boyhood and Moonlight won, Nomadland can win as well.

Could win: Chicago 7 because the HFPA is a very basic group, but also PYW for the same reason as Nomadland.

    Should win: Nomadland

    DRAMA ACTRESS

Will win: PYW overperformed like Joker last year and I think this means Mulligan is the favorite.

Could win: Davis, but I can’t see Ma winning both leading drama categories without a BP drama nomination.

Should win: Kirby is my favorite, but I’m okay with Mulligan winning.

    DRAMA ACTOR

Will win: Boseman because his narrative is just too hard to ignore.

Could win: Hopkins because he never won before and they liked The Father more than Ma Rainey.

Should win: Ahmed is my favorite (haven’t seen The Father yet), but I’m okay with Boseman winning.

    COMEDY/MUSICAL FILM

Will win: Borat because of politics and it’s the biggest commercial hit between the nominees.

Could win: Palm Springs, but I can’t feel much hype over it.

Should win: Palm Springs. Borat is overrated.

    COMEDY/MUSICAL ACTRESS

Will win: Bakalova is already a hit. She’s winning.

Could win: Taylor-Joy but she’s already winning in another category, or Pike but her film is not as strong as Borat.

Should win: Pike is my favorite here, but I’m fine with Bakalova.

    COMEDY/MUSICAL ACTOR

Will win: SBC, but he could win for Chicago 7 and not this. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he pulls a Kate Winslet and wins in both categories (please god no). But I think he’s winning only here because he’s no Kate Winslet and Borat is the reason he’s having a great year.

Could win: Manuel-Miranda because they liked Hamilton, but I can’t see this “film” winning anything at all. Samberg is a possibility but I see no hype over him.

Should win: Samberg, but I’m okay with SBC because his chances to win for that atrocious performance in Chicago 7 are lower if he takes this.

    SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Will win: Close, but I don’t have much confidence in this prediction, since she won very recently and HE sucks. I think if the HFPA knows she’s going to be win competitive for the Oscar, they’ll vote for her.

Could win: I think Seyfrield is second because Mank is leading nominations and she seems like something the HFPA could do. Colman could win but there’s zero hype over her.

Should win: Youn is the best one in this category and since she was criminally snubbed, Zengel is my favorite in this lineup.

    SUPPORTING ACTOR

Will win: I’m predicting Kaluuya because his performance is undeniable and he seems to be peaking in the right moment, but I’m ready to be disappointed.

Could win: SBC because they loved Chicago 7 and he’s very popular.

    Should win: Kaluuya

    DIRECTOR

Will win: Zhao because three women were nominated so a woman is winning.

Could win: Fennell for the same reason as Zhao, but I doubt it.

    Should win: Zhao

    SCREENPLAY

Will win: Chicago 7 because they love Sorkin. Steve Jobs won for no reason and Molly’s Game was nominated over CMBYN.

Could win: I can see a Nomadland sweep, so it could win here. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they choose PYW.

Should win: Chicago 7 is the least deserving and I’d be fine with anyone else winning.

    SCORE

Will win: Mank because it has six nominations and I don’t think it’ll to go home empty handed.

Could win: Soul because it won most critics awards, but I feel they have a bias against animated films in the music categories. News of the World could also win because James Newton Howard is overdue.

    Should win: Soul

    SONG

    Will win: “Speak Now”

    Could win: “Fight for You”

    Should win: “Fight for You”

    ANIMATED FILM

    Will win: Soul

    Could win: Wolfwalkers

    Should win: Soul

    FOREIGN FILM

    Will win: Minari

    Could win: Another Round

Should win: Another Round (Minari should be in Drama, not here).
