We are changing over Promising Young Woman to drama at the Globes.

We are adding Hamilton to musical categories for Globes. We are not adding Hamilton to SAG or Oscars because we don’t even know if it’s eligible elsewhere yet.

We are also taking Minari out of the Drama Film category but leaving the actors in.

We are not changing any of the other films from today’s reports because they don’t provide enough details yet to know what to do (too speculative and/or unsure at this point).

    (Asterisks denote winners)

As much as I hate Hamilton being eligible here, I think it’s EASILY winning Picture. It’s the most-streamed movie of the year, and the HFPA is absolutely shameless enough to give it to not-a-real-movie just because they love the show. I think Baron Cohen will still take Actor because Miranda and Odom seem like genuine vote-splitters, though.

I’m just gonna go all out and say Hamilton gets 5 acting nominations. Comedy Actor is weak enough to get 2 nominations, Supporting Actress is random enough to get 2 nominations (category fraud there for Soo), and one for supporting.

Have a great day if you see this!

    FYC: Anthony Hopkins- The Father
FYC: Chadwick Boseman - Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

Do we have any sense of Hulu’s campaign strategy yet? Will they pushing Palm Springs or Happiest Season more?

They’re so untested as a genuine film contender that I’m not sure how to evaluate their chances, even though I think Palm Springs should be a frontrunner to win in several categories.

Also, how weird is that Hamilton will compete at the Movie Globes and at the Emmys lol.

Yes, and there’s no chance she’s nominated over Goldsberry. I’ve seen a lot of Soo mentions over Goldsberry in the past few hours. I will say that it seems Goldsberry had a bit of a rough day vocally that they filmed Hamilton but she gives the superior performance. She and Odom Jr. were all the buzz in 2015.

I’d say Diggs had more buzz than Goldsberry back then. I’ve heard several people call it in no uncertain terms the best supporting performance they’ve ever seen in the format.

True, he too had buzz. He’s brilliant in Hamilton
