If there was any justice Lauren Lapkus would be nominated for The Wrong Missy.
January 30, 2021 at 10:18 am #1204009862I Care a Lot is coming at the perfect time for the Globes. The big comedy/musical contenders here are actually pretty stale in terms of release, pretty much all premiering in the summer or fall with The Prom being the only December release, and of course those dates are basically even earlier this year. ICAL will be the hot new kid, and overall it seems right up the Globes’ alley, witty and dark with a bite. I expect it to be a surprise Picture nominee, and while we obviously have to wait until we see the movie, right now I think Actress is a 50/50 between Pike and Bakalova.
January 30, 2021 at 10:33 am #1204009884I could easily see Rosamund Pike win the GG. It will be her third nomination and if they don’t feel like giving Borat an acting sweep, Pike would be a very good choice. Also, it seems like her performance is THAT good and so is the movie.
January 30, 2021 at 10:33 am #1204009886I agree with I care a lot. I want to add if they really love the movie, Dinklage could easily get an actor musical or comedy nomination especially with that category being what it is.
Director gives me a headache. I know im gonna get it wrong no matter what so I put Ererald fennell in my fifth spot. I know its wrong.
January 30, 2021 at 10:35 am #1204009891Lol now the forum is trying to make yet another random movie happen. Let’s see if it works out better for them than the locked Mads Mikkelson and happiest season.

Because the comedy categories are so easy this year. We are guessing here. if we are wrong, then we are wrong

January 30, 2021 at 11:09 am #1204009934I think you’re all really overestimating I Care a Lot chances. Pike will be the only nomination at best.
January 30, 2021 at 11:39 am #1204009977Is it possible that Disney’s King is Black gets a Best Comedy/Musical Film nomination?
Definitely Black Is King should have been Disney+ push if any, not that shitty move of trying to pass Hamilton as a movie; reminded me of all those critics acting like Small Axe is not a mini-series.

I’m mean — I’m sorry.
January 31, 2021 at 11:01 am #1204010964I’m mean — I’m sorry.
All good. Im seriously taking risks and they will either pull off or not. Sorry for my horrible spelling
January 31, 2021 at 11:03 am #1204010966I feel like we’re going to get some really WTF choices here and I’m not talking about Promising Young Woman getting into Picture or S. Actor, Hillbilly Elegy and The United States vs Billie Holliday over-performing or any of that I am talking about the most WTF choices ever. Comedy/Musical Picture is one where I can see this happening.
I definitely see a Hillbilly overperformance happening — I’ve been saying it for months.
January 31, 2021 at 11:12 am #1204011013I’m not predicting a Hillbilly Elegy over-performance but I think we’re going to see lots of “non awards films” do very well. I think Eurovision will do well here and I can see one or both of McAdams and Ferrell pop up and I won’t be surprised if Palm Springs nagged a screenplay nomination.
I won’t be surprised if Sylvie’s Love also did well.
FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")
