hfpa, do the right thing and reward the best performance by a male actor – hopkins. don’t give in to the SJWs and political correctness. the performance, not the narrative.

Chadwick to your hopes and dreams tonight.

Anyway, Carey winning is my big birthday wish. I turn 20 in two days and I’ll consider her win a pretty amazing present. Would love to see Screenplay too

I switched back to Chad too. They aren’t denying him this big moment.

Best Motion Picture – Drama The Trial of the Chicago 7 Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama Carey Mulligan – Promising Young Woman Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama Chadwick Boseman – Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy Hamilton Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy Maria Bakalova – Borat Subsequent Moviefilm Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy Sacha Baron Cohen – Borat Subsequent Moviefilm Best Motion Picture – Animated Soul Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language Minari (USA) Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture Amanda Seyfried – Mank Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture Sacha Baron Cohen – The Trial of the Chicago 7 Best Director – Motion Picture Chloé Zhao – Nomadland Best Screenplay – Motion Picture Aaron Sorkin – The Trial of the Chicago 7 Best Original Score – Motion Picture Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste – Soul Best Original Song – Motion Picture “Speak Now” from One Night in Miami…

Glad I don’t have to write my final predictions out now. Exact same for me, except I think Close will beat Seyfried in Supporting Actress. 51/49 between Cohen and Kaluuya in Supporting Actor, but I generally give bad taste the edge with tight Globes predictions, so I’ll go with Cohen.

I can definitely see Hopkins beating out Boseman, though. Another tight one. I don’t think there’ll be a concerted, massive push for Boseman here like we’ll see at the Oscars, and Hopkins has never won a Globe.

Hamilton winning Comedy/ Musical is such a Globes thing that I think I’ll have to predict it.

That didn’t stop them from giving the Globe to Heath Ledger.

All I know is that Chadwick’s family will receive the Globe in his behalf and OccultCherry will meltdown.

Chadwick winning is going to be so emotionally draining. I still find myself in shock whenever I remind myself that he’s no longer with us. I still remember waking up to the news last year, and god, it will never not sting.

I want Chadwick to win so bad but this is Globes we’re talking about and I still have a feeling he won’t win. I’m REALLY hoping to be proven wrong tonight

I just want HER to win song, it’s easily the best of lacklustre nominated five and it’s still even her best song for a film of 2020 (Comfortable >)

I’m seriously considering switching my Drama prediction to Promising Young Woman. Partly out of wishful thinking but also it REALLY seems like a Globes pick. I already have a hard time imagining anyone beating Carey atm, but the strength of the passion behind her can bolster the film to another win. Don’t think Fennell will win Director over Fincher or Zhao, but Drama and Screenplay are seriously on the table

The thing with Promising Young Woman is if it’s going to win Picture here (as some of us are now predicting) then why wouldn’t Fennell win Screenplay?

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")
