CC is even worse than the globes. Just look at who pundits are trying to push to win and make them your predictions. I didnt say years ago they predict the oscars badly for nothing.

At the end of the day, these award shows aren’t everything and although I wanted Carey to win, I’m happy for Andra Day. She did turn in a noteworthy performance. These are not the Olympics and there is no problem if someone else wins who you didn’t stan wins!

My main takeaways:
– both the male acting awards feel like they’re solidifying (and in Boseman’s case, you might as well engrave it right now);
– conversely, both female acting awards have no narrative building to speak of. I think basically anything could happen here going forward (and if Minari is really picking up steam, there’s a real opening for Youn here);
– this was the awards body theoretically least amenable to Nomadland, so that it won here is great news for it.
