    What a mess.

And what does people like Jim Carrey, Reese Witherspoon, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell have to do with films like Hustle, 12 Years, Gravity and Inside Llewyn Davis respectively?

I like that they’re opening with the two Supporting Actress awards. Those races have some front-runners but there’s still great potential for surprise.

If they go with Jennifer Lawrence and Sofia Vergara, we’ll have more proof that they can’t resist the stars with enormous current popularity.

If they go with Lupita Nyong’o and Monica Potter, they’ll show that smaller names with quality work still have a chance.

If they go with Julia Roberts and Jacqueline Bisset, we’ll know that they’re feeling nostalgic.

She is one of my upset picks of the night. That would be a great moment with those three.

Or they just think that Roberts with her amazing performance washed the overrated Nyongo away?  Or they just believe that Vergara is kinda overdue for her 4th nomination, and voting for her, instead of someone for her first nomination in a noname series? …
