Disclaimer that my selection of the choices for this poll is extremely subjective so of course, please feel free to identify other worthy actors I’ve failed to list. (I acknowledge that for some of these options I’m somewhat biased in favor of actors I’ve seen perform on stage.)

Jamie Lee Curtis. Imagine thinking she doesn’t deserve to be on the poll list. Halloween – True Lies – My Girl – Freaky Friday – A Fish Called Wanda – Trading Places – Blue Steel. She’s more than overdue.
I would never say she (or at least a dozen other actors) “doesn’t deserve” to be on this list. I may have been conflating a bit actors overdue for a first Oscar nomination and actors I’ve seen on stage (such as Alfred Molina, Jeffrey Wright and Ben Whishaw) who are overdue for more good film roles.

Curtis should have been nominated a couple of times and she came close a couple of times as well. She was def. next in line for True Lies (category confusion – lead at GG, supporting at SAG) and she won BAFTA for Trading Places. It’s a true shame she’s never gotten in.
