Of the 10 male performers who have received 5 or more Oscar nominations for acting, winning once (and only once), who do you think is the greatest actor?September 2, 2016 at 6:01 pm #1201917223
Please ignore the question above the poll. For whatever reason, it reads: “Which actress whose career is struggling should try and go the McConaughey route to win an Oscar?”
I don’t know why this is being displayed as the question, and I’m not sure how to change it.September 2, 2016 at 6:12 pm #1201917224
Al Pacino!September 2, 2016 at 8:52 pm #1201917244
I went with Olivier but man, it’s a nearly impossible call with the likes of Newman and Peck in there too.

I’m the sole voter for Jimmy Stewart so far.September 3, 2016 at 12:21 pm #1201917378
James Stewart surely! But it’s crazy Newman has only won once.September 4, 2016 at 3:41 pm #1201917613
This is tough but I went with Al Pacino because he has given some of my favorite performances of all-time (The Godfather; The Godfather Part II; Dog Day Afternoon; and Serpico)September 5, 2016 at 6:58 am #1201917735
OMG this is so freaking hard! Talent wise, Ill go with Al Pacino but James Stewart has better movies. I could change my mind later on.
So I guess I’ll vote for James Stewart.September 5, 2016 at 8:42 am #1201917758
DiCaprio is talented, no doubts about that, but put him among these other guys is laughable – specially considering other actors that are not in this poll like Henry Fonda, Rod Steiger, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Humphrey Bogart, etc.
That said, I go with Olivier.September 5, 2016 at 11:10 am #1201917786
Peck is listed but Bogart is not? Oh my.
I picked DiCaprio.September 5, 2016 at 1:28 pm #1201917796
I say Al Pacino, he got robbed for his layered and powerful work in The Godfather Part 2. Was Art Carney really better for Harry and Tonto?! WTF?!?! ;(

Carney over Pacino (and Nicholson and Hoffman to boot) is indeed one of the all-time great travesties in Best Lead Actor.

Morgan Freeman. He’s always the light of a even the worst movies he is in and is constantly great but only one win? They should have campaigned him in Supporting for Shawshank he might have taken that over Landau for Ed WoodSeptember 5, 2016 at 6:20 pm #1201917852
I know I am in the minority, but I would have voted for Art Carney in “Harry and Tonto”. He was great! All 5 performances that year were great. Al Pacino, I think, is the best actor with only one Oscar.
