Voted Captain Phillips, but I could really be persuaded any which way between it, ABDITN, The Post, Sully, Bridge of Spies, and Catch Me If You Can. Maybe Charlie Wilson’s War and Saving Mr. Banks as well, but less likely.

After 7 years, I’m still shocked he wasn’t nominated for it, but Bruce Dern got in instead.

He was robbed of a nomination for CAPTAIN PHILLIPS when he should’ve been a strong contender to win. It was his best work in years.

I will say I did also quite like what he brought to the table while playing Mister Rogers. It wasn’t really a performance in which he looked or sounded like him but I felt he really captured the energy and essence of him.

I have to go with a beautiful day in the neighbrhood. Sometimes the stars align and an actor gets a role they are born for and that one just was the thing for Hanks. There was something so calming about his interpretation of the iconic star that I grew up watching as a kid that just felt like chicken soup on a cold day or in this case something so pure and positive in a messsed up world
