I think if Viggo won in Supporting that would make Green Book’s success even more problematic as all the winners for Green Book would be white.

Would Mahershala have won the Comedy Golden Globe since he lost for Moonlight?

Im not sure. I wanna say yes but they do like when actors transform themselves like bale in vice.

Neither would have won and Green Book would have won spotlight style.

Both Richard E. Grant and Mahershala Ali would have only one Oscar…sounds great to me.

I doubt that a Spotlight-esque win is something that can happen frequently. I’m honestly convinced that if Viggo was supporting he would’ve won. His character was the heart and soul of the movie and Viggo had previous nominations and lots of goodwill in his favor.

Explain how Grant could beat Viggo when he couldn’t beat Ali.

Explain why Viggo in a best picture winner couldn’t beat Christian Bale who already had an Oscar at the Globes first.
There was no hype for him. Pure filler.

Christian Bale would have won Best Actor 2018 if Vice wasn’t such a huge box office disaster and Bale hadn’t won previously.

    Anyone Agrees?

Sadly true. I wish that Joker came out last year, as I think Joaquin would’ve been able to beat him. Both Joker and Bohemian Rhapsody got mixed reviews, but Joker’s were better, Joaquin’s performance was more acclaimed by both critics and audiences, and the film was a bigger financial success, even though it had an R rating. After Phoenix’s success this year, I think he definitely could’ve pulled it off. And if he won last year, that means Driver would’ve pulled off a win this year (not to mention that open spot means Taron Egerton might’ve made the cut).

I wish but nah, Rami would’ve definitely won if he was against Joaquin.

Christian Bale would have won Best Actor 2018 if Vice wasn’t such a huge box office disaster and Bale hadn’t won previously. Anyone Agrees?

Well Bale was second that year so…

I don’t think Mortensen would’ve won if he was supporting. As Blanche pointed out, Green Book took home THREE Globes including Picture and he still couldn’t beat Christian Bale for Best Actor that year when Bale already won a Globe in the past. People just didn’t care about him that much. If Ali went lead I think Grant would win, I believe he’d have much more passion.

Bale won because he was the showiest in the comedy category. If Mortensen was supporting I firmly believe they would’ve campaigned the hell out for him.

There was definitely a lot more hype around Viggo than Grant.

If Ali competed against Bale than he would’ve lost too.

Darling, Homo Mahershalalala would have lost as he deserved and so would’ve done Fake Italian Mortensen.

As a famous singer said, "ain't nobody gonna Thatcher, Thatcher, Thatcher!"

If Mortensen went Supporting I don’t think would’ve won because I think no one would’ve bought that fraud.
