Definitely Oscar nomination. I’ll have to see the movie to be sure if she has the prospect of winning.
It was good while it lasted my sweet Renée.I’ve started wondering if this could end up being similar to the Best Actor race between Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne from 2014. Keaton was making his big comeback by starring in a showbiz drama while Redmayne was giving a complete transformation as an important historical figure. Of course, there are differences here as Renée Zellweger is playing a real person too, and she already has an Oscar.

ReplyCopy URLJuly 23, 2019 at 8:29 am #1202991468Cynthia Erivo is unopposed, she has no competition.
I am not familiar with Judy Garland, or her work, or her personality (cuz i am not 150 years old) but in the trailer Renee was giving major Renee teas. She is unable to shake off her own personality, hence she is not a threat.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought this.. Harriet’s biopic could use the Melina Matsoukas treatment! This looks too polished and uninspired

Not the case at all.. Harriet will be this year’s On The Basis of Sex

July 23, 2019 at 10:04 am #1202991634Erivo will absolutely get in and looks to be competitive for the win but the film doesn’t look good. 12 Years a Slave really set the bar extremely high from a technical standpoint.

but you’re familiar with Harriet Tubman’s personality lol? They both look great but if we’re just judging off the trailer Renée is winning.
