The mogul says he’s taking a leave of absence amid the paper’s report that he “has reached at least eight settlements with women.”
Guess we can write off any Weinstein film this year, like Wind River…Or not? What’s your take?
I think that would be ridiculous. He wouldn’t stand a chance of being nominated, having been listed as an exec producer on that film. He distributed the film, yes, but what was his extent as an executive producer? Others need not be punished because of Harvey’s monstrous actions.October 5, 2017 at 1:15 pm #1202230842This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 5, 2017 at 1:42 pm #1202230892This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 5, 2017 at 1:53 pm #1202230914This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 6, 2017 at 7:49 am #1202231387
He should just take this news, his wife (is he still with “the beautiful” Georgina Chapman?) and go into hiding. He’s threatening to sue newspapers for releasing the story and that will only mean more exposure and more stories and more women coming forward after a name like Ashley Judd came out with her own story. And you know if Rose McGowan is named, she’s going to push this further as she has done in the past.
So why not be content with your millions, your undeserving Oscar statue, “the beautiful” Georgina Chapman, and the fact that you enjoyed 30 years of abuse to women and go into hiding? Why do YOU need to make a bigger deal of this? It’s one thing for people to come out with stories, why do you need to bury yourself any deeper?
Just go away Harvey.
(He should be exposed and shamed and punished, I just find it funny when you write an apology statement, meaning you’re admitting to this stuff and then go and sue people for releasing things. As if that won’t mean more exposure of your acts).October 6, 2017 at 10:21 am #1202231576
The chickens are finally coming home to roost, I see. Good riddance to him.October 6, 2017 at 10:29 am #1202231578
It’s not fair that every actress who so much as had a movie produced by him is getting shamed before they even have a chance to speak. When it comes down to it, thanking him if they win awards and “cozying up” to him at awards functions and stuff is just part of the deal. It’s an act. Isn’t it kind of unusual that the most campaigning Meryl ever did was for Weinstein movies?October 6, 2017 at 10:57 am #1202231587
Of all the shitty gems in this KNOWN (even in my podunk flyover state) casting couch creep’s inane “apology,” among the worst is this idea that he needs help and education and goals and my God, a decade of trying to… idk learn that he has no right to abuse other human beings, which any normal person doesn’t need help understanding, and he’s acting like he deserves sympathy and a pat on the back for the admission. What the fuck is this, did I read this wrong? If this ends him and stop his soft, shitty body from ambling onscreen at another awards show, I’ll be satisfied. Usually I’d be too cynical to expect action… but I’m hopeful.
EDIT: read another article saying he’s claiming his position of power made women misconstrue his comments to them as being more intimidating or inappropriate than what he means, and that he’s working to change that. Oh, OK, I’m sure that’s exactly what happened. (◔_◔)October 6, 2017 at 7:52 pm #1202231757
Harvey Weinstein Accused of Masturbating in Front of Female TV Reporter
At least that’s what I would think prior to 2016. He may just get elected President in 2020.October 6, 2017 at 8:55 pm #1202231770

He taught Streep the dirty politics of award season despite being a perennial favorite she never was someone who had to beg for votes until it became apparent she felt voters were indifferent simply because it seemed like she didn’t want it as badly as others.
