Lol at Streep pretending like she didn’t know. Trying to cover her tracks lmao. But all in all if she apparently “didn’t know”, Meryl is absolutely fine. What I find interesting is all the other upper-echelon officials in Hollywood keeping their mouths shut and hoping for the controversy to fade.

Anyway, fuck Weinstein. Good that he got what he deserved.

When I said that certain female star who was at the centre of fappening scandal had her photos taken during casting couch sessions her stans defended her that those photos were taken by her friend for that star’s boyfriend (seriously!?). Well last days were proof I was right they were wrong but they won’t acknowledge it. Oh and Meryl knew. Everybody knew. It’s kinda hilarious that now those A-listers play dumb. You’re not that good actors, guys! I could tell you some stories about real Hollywood but what’s the point? You already know it’s one of the dirtiest places in the world.

lol Meryl trying to act oblivious and now condemn Weinstein when there’s a video of her defending Polanski and caught on camera giving a standing ovation to Polanski when he won the Oscar.

Isn’t this the reason why most of us love Hollywood so much, we are intrigued by everything it has to offer. Please do tell those stories, I would like to hear them. Whether here or via PM doesn’t matter for me, just give me the dirt and I’ll be happy.

If hearing about Hollywood execs snorting coke and getting blown by young female reporters in broad daylight at Oscars events is your cup of tea, among other things, go ahead and ask her.

Otherwise, what’s the point? As “liberal” as Hollywood claims it is, it’s quite surprising how many shitty things have happened there. The Weinstein rapey bullshit is just another mark on the image of the industry.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think it’s possible for one person to give a standing ovation.

Anyway, this is sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation but i guess it’s better for her to speak about it than remain silent.

Matt Damon and Russel Crow killed the NY Times Harvey Weinstein story multiple times in 2004.

When I said everybody knew about it. I meant EVERYBODY. So girls everywhere if you want money, do not get into showbusiness. Just find a wealthy older man and marry him. It’s much easier that way. One cock instead of hundreds.

Nobody has proof she knew, so constantly saying so doesn’t make it true. When you don’t work, let alone live in LA, you aren’t constantly among industry people, you’re actually, idk, living your life. And obviously, he only treated her with respect. So what are the odd she’s gonna take much notice to a rumor? And another angle that is being explored is that she specifically wasn’t told anything. The tone of her statement is clearly angry, at him, and the media. But when she says “I didn’t know” several times, she sounds like she’s angry that she didn’t know. Think about that. Once again, her tone is being misinterpreted.

Are you kidding me? She’s been in the industry, what, almost 50 years? Worked with him, worked with countless amounts of industry players throughout her career? People talk all the time. I heard about Weinstein and his behavior in acting class at 14, I didn’t even live in LA during that time! If friends of mine, who’ve only been in the industry for a few short years, work as production/personal assistants and know all this information, she definitely did as well. She can go on and deny it all she wants, but she clearly isn’t speaking the truth.

In fact, anyone in the industry who denies knowing any of this information isn’t being honest. Like I, and so many other people have said, this was easily the worst kept secret in Hollywood. I know you love Meryl and all, but you gotta be realistic here.

Glenn Close today says she’s heard the rumors for years.

Meryl is so busted along with much of Hollywood!

On the bright side, hopefully we’ll be spared her sanctimonious and smug speeches especially at the awards shows.

There’s a difference between heariing/knowing he’s an asshole and knowing about the abuse. She’s only claiming to not know about the sexual abuse. That doesn’t mean she didn’t know he was questionable though, I get that, but she’s not claiming that.

    Glenn’s Statement

I’m sitting here, deeply upset, acknowledging to myself that, yes, for many years, I have been aware of the vague rumors that Harvey Weinstein had a pattern of behaving inappropriately around women. Harvey has always been decent to me, but now that the rumors are being substantiated, I feel angry and darkly sad.

I’m angry, not just at him and the conspiracy of silence around his actions, but also that the “casting couch” phenomenon, so to speak, is still a reality in our business and in the world: the horrible pressure, the awful expectation put on a woman when a powerful, egotistical, entitled bully expects sexual favors in exchange for a job.

Ours is an industry in which very few actors are indispensable and women are cast in far fewer roles than men, so the stakes are higher for women and make them more vulnerable to the manipulations of a predator. I applaud the monumental courage of the women who have spoken up. I hope that their stories and the reportage that gave them their voices represents a tipping point, that more stories will be told and that change will follow.

The changes must be both institutional and personal. Men and women, in positions of power, must create a work environment in which people, whose jobs depend on them, feel safe to report threatening and inappropriate behavior, like that reported in the Times. No one should be coerced into trading personal dignity for professional success. I feel the time is long and tragically overdue for all of us in the industry, women and men, to unite — calmly and dispassionately — and create a new culture of respect, equality and empowerment, where bullies and their enablers are no longer allowed to prosper.

I love Meryl to death but she at the very least knew rumors. The most respected actress in the industry and queen of the awards shows didn’t know? She’s fibbing a little but I know she’s genuine with being disgusted with him in her statement.

And those it girls that used for him campaigning to get their Oscar for sure knew. Jennifer Lawrence and Gywneth Paltrow? They knew (which makes me even more suspicious of those “fappening” photos). And didn’t Matt Damon try to deny them once?
