Yeah Russell Crowe for A Beautiful Mind was the only one. He won the Oscar the previous year though. There was also some controversy with him at that year’s BAFTAs when he won for A Beautiful Mind. From Wikipedia: “After winning the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Russell Crowe gave a speech in which he quoted a poem by Patrick Kavanagh. When the ceremony was broadcast, Crowe was upset that the poem was cut. He blamed the producer, Malcolm Gerrie, and confronted him about it. It was reported that the confrontation got physical.”

    Russell Crowe.

Didn’t he have an incident where he punched somebody? I seem to recall his getting into trouble right before or during the Oscar voting. He also had won the year before. Personally I think he didn’t deserve it for Gladiator and deserved it for A Beautiful Mind, so they got it backwards!

I think it got something to do with a hotel staff. Crowe hit the guy with a telephone and that was during Oscar voting period when the news broke out. I dunno much…correct if I’m wrong.

No, that hotel thing was a few years later. He fought with the BAFTA people after his speech was cut short like somebody said above. Just to be accurate he threw the phone down and it bounced and hit the hotel employee, he didn’t throw it directly at him.
