You think it’s fine, and that’s fine. Others think it’s awful, which they are allowed to do.

We’re still arguing over the trailer’s quality?! Some LOVED it, others HATED it. Lets move on.
Also, lets all understand that wasn’t a trailer. It was a ‘Vote for Amy and Glenn’ ad. I’m sure the next one will be better. (Not that I hated it btw. I actually liked it)

I wonder if the trailer was cut in a way to be a showcase for Close and Adams because Netflix has no faith in the rest of the movie getting any awards traction. They may just be the best things in the movie.

    – The movie was profoundly moving – Amy Adams’ portrayal of J.D.’s mom was a gut punch, I rarely have seen such a brilliant performance of a character committing such empirically awful acts, while not causing the audience to hate her – and I’m finding now that we’re beginning to show the movie and have test screenings and whatnot—was how universal the conflicts, the emotions, the semantics of this story actually turned out to be – I had to rewatch the first seven minutes to figure out which character was being played by Glenn Close. I didn’t recognize her – I’ll never forget the moment where we all saw [Glenn Close playing Mamaw] for the first time. We—including my aunt—gasped and started crying. it was just an incredible re-creation of Mamaw.

Is Amy a true lead in the film?

Yes, the story covers 2 timelines and her character is featured in both. Here’s a first official “review”

thank you for the info 🙂

I don’t know if anyone noticed but Netflix has corrected Gabriel’s name in the ending credits. So, they’re definitely paying attention to the comments. Lets hope for the next trailer to be a bit better.

Amy looks so glamorous there. When they do campaign events they should just put that picture next to a picture of Amy in character.

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Embargo for reviews lifts November 10th.

Indiewire (Anne Thompson) posted their review but it has since been taken down, they were very positive and particularly praised both Close & Adams.

Couple of people now saying they’re sitting this one out after JD Vance makes some extremely questionable tweets.

Interesting to note that Clayton Davis of Variety’s Awards Circuit had both of them high in his rankings, but just dropped everything Hillbilly Elegy (including Close) out of the top 5-10 in their respective categories.
