I think Cicely Tyson is great but wonder if she has the film career to warrant an Honorary Oscar….just my opinion. I definitely think she deserves to be in the Television Hall of Fame; her tv work over the years is stellar. Even Kim Novak, who I think is great…..I would love to see her receive an Honorary Oscar but again I’m not sure she has the films to support it…..Vertigo, Picnic, Bell Book & Candle….many of Kim Novak’s films weren’t received so well, but I still wouldn’t mind seeing her get an Honorary Oscar.

All film legends don’t have extensive filmographies due to systemic industry prejudice.

I wonder if they can push for some Special Achievement Oscar for those who worked on bringing Orson Welles’s The Other Side of the Wind to life.

I always push for Jafar Panahi to get a Hersholt for his dedication to filmmaking in the face of his censoring government. His new film just won a prize in Cannes and isn’t likely to be submitted for FLF, it could be a good enough reason to include some sort of special prize at least.

I think with all this talk about the Popular Movie category, superhero movies and the 10th anniversary of Marvel Studios, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kevin Feige gets voted to receive the Thalberg award.

The Schifrin nomination for The Amityville Horror is among my all-time favorites in Best Original Score.

Many of those mentioned won Oscars. It is very unlikely anymore for someone to receive an Honorary Oscar if they have received a competitive one. Doris Day would be the most overdue of anyone, but she does not want it. I see Max Von Sydow & Liv Ullman receiving Honorary Oscars soon……also would like to see Kim Novak honored.
