I’m also curious about the lack of things
She’s gonna restart her Vegas residency next week so it’s gonna get packed for her if they let everything from that point on

    It's all about Ethan Hawke!

Lol I’m not panicking. I am eager for things to start. I just can’t figure out their game plan. I find it more interesting than anything. I have been thinking about how they are going to capitalize on this huge cast for months, and it’s weird that they released the trailer so early and then kind of dipped. I am just more curious about this process than anything. Especially since so many other November releases are starting to kick up their promo.

well the Vegas shows are promo in themselves. She will be visible and seen. It’s only a week or so long residency, right? She’s not stuck there like Celine was for years. She has definitely done magazine shoots and interviews that will roll out. I actually think it’s good not to hype it up too much too early. It’s on people’s radar because of the trailer and it looks like a great role for Gaga. It will dial up soon.

One is House of Gucci, a slinky, ripely accented true-crime melodrama, starring Adam Driver as the assassinated fashion kingpin Maurizio Gucci and Lady Gaga as his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani. Filmed in Italy this year, it is, says Scott, “dramatic but also very funny, even kind of satirical”. (He’s also an avowed Gaga fan, describing her as the “perfect Patrizia”: not bad for a role that was once earmarked for Angelina Jolie.

    I’m so excitedddd. Sounds perfect.

Exactly, she did already with ASIB a very massive promo, and while in that case, it made sense to do it for her and Bradley, this time the promo needs to be done more strategically.

The lack of promo for this movie is somewhat troubling. I mean it is still over a month away, but I thought as soon as L4S was out and October began, that there would be a bunch of magazine articles/covers, and more official still photos posted to the official social media sites. I think Adam shooting his movie and Gaga rehearsing for Vegas is getting in the way of that. I was really hoping for a trailer 2 today, but I guess that is not happening. I’m starting to wonder if this will be blown off by Adam just like The Last Duel has been. There was also the rumors that Gaga was shooting all of these covers and promo shoots in July when she was doing the radio city shows, but I would have thought they would be coming out right about now. I still have confidence in Gaga and her team for this movie, but I need MGM to step it the fuck up.

I’m starting to wonder if their focus will be on the Oscar push post-premiere. Instead of shooting their shot early, maybe they’ll push it after the fact so that everything is fresh in the Academy’s minds when the voting comes around. Kristen Stewart with SPENCER is seemingly doing the opposite, which could hurt her in the long run. And speaking of SPENCER, all eyes are on Kristen as the frontrunner at the moment, so maybe they don’t want to push anything right now and compete with that. It’ll make it easier for all eyes to be on Gaga, who is probably their go-to for a potential Oscar nomination.

Anyways, just a thought to try and explain the confusing silence from the studio.

I’d imagine we’d start hearing more about this once Gaga finishes her Vegas shows in early November. ASIB burned out too quickly, so I’m hopeful that if HOGs a contender, they try to avoid that and play their hand later. Remember, Oscars aren’t till late March so there’s a loooonggg time between now and then. Anyone getting press right now will have a lot of momentum to keep up for 5-6 months.

fans just decide themselves and then get mad when it doesn’t happen!

Jeez, thats going to be a controversial running time. A choice!! Does he always do long movies? No complaints from me as a big fan but it will turn ppl off seeing it in the cinema I guess?

I’m kind of REALLY tired of people saying, “omg House of Gucci looks like shit! Can’t wait to see it though.” I guess I just don’t understand why people would want to go see something if it looks as bad as they apparently think HoG will be. I guess I just wanted to see if anyone else gets annoyed about shitting on movies for no reason. 😂

Trainwrecks are fun. It’s competent but bland bores that are the most painful to sit through.

huh? Most people I know are excited for it and not dissing it. Even industry people have been asking where it is. When it came out the vibe was that it looked amazing.

The only people I see try to shade it are those who don’t want Gaga to be a thread for a nomination.

This is where I’m at. The later they finish their promotional run, the fresher the movie will be in the Academy Memebrs’ minds. It’s a smart tactic, even if not intentional lol.
