Lool, the arrogance and the stupidity here.
Plus, in Scorsese organized crime films there are not pure italians, they are all Americans of Italian descent from Little Italy, Brooklyn, or New Jersey.
It’s radically different.So fuck off, Gaga!
Both are Americans of Italian descent, and what they really talk about perhaps is the same as what you mention and what they really are. Many Americans, especially white people whom I found in the internet, talked like that when they talked about ethnicity. They call themselves Polish or Greek just because they have the ancestors coming from there. I don’t know why they should f off because of that.
"The Lost Daughter" in every eligible category - Film
"Succession" Season 3 in every eligible category - TV
"Heaux Tales" by Jasmine Sullivan in every eligible category - MusicNovember 5, 2021 at 7:13 am #1204558991Does anyone know off the top of their head the average embargo time for some movies this year? I see the same group of people saying that the embargo is super telling that the movie will be bad. I just figured they would want members and critics groups to see it with an open mind and no biased, isn’t that how all movies are?
I don’t know if typical embargo rules can be applied this time around since they got off to a late start due to the movie not being finished. I think lifting the embargo on Tuesday makes sense and isn’t too late.

I’m not sure how her sharing a friend’s opinion is “arrogant” and “stupid”. This comment comes off unhinged.
November 5, 2021 at 7:37 am #1204559046Taking Scorsese’s movies about organized crime as a representation of Italian Americans is so dumb that it doesn’t even deserve to be discussed.
November 5, 2021 at 7:48 am #1204559065Lol, what does Tony Bennett’s opinion on movies haa to do with anything.

Matt Neglia said only lifted embargo reactions Tuesday, reviews continue to be, i don’t know how I’m supposed to feel lol.
FYC:
"Succession" and "Severance" in all Drama categories;
"Ted Lasso" and "The Great" in all Comedy categories;
"Station Eleven" and "The White Lotus" in all Limited categories + Ethan Hawke for "Moon Knight".November 5, 2021 at 8:11 am #1204559099Allowing only reactions within 15 days of the debut is extremely worrying.

Oh, well then I don’t know lol. I’m not really sure why they’d do that… just gonna have a bunch of people posting threads on Twitter.

I really hope there has been some sort of misunderstanding, or that they change their minds and let reviews drop. I mean unless people that have been to the PGA and SAG screenings are just lying then what the hell is the problem? Seems like people think it’s a decently good movie, or that the performances save the editing issues or script issues. I just want this to be over already. Jesus I love this project, but I really want it to be here and to be over with.
The industry doesn’t always think like the critic. Maybe the studio is showing it to the guilds because it believes in awards even with bad reviews, like Jojo Rabbit, Joker, Bohemian Rhapsody…

Yeah, I think we’re just blowing things out of proportion. Promotion just started so I’m gonna hold off for a week before I start freaking out about embargos.

I guess I just assume that if people who are actually involved in the business of making movies and voting for awards, like the movie then maybe critics would “like” it to. That’s just me being too rational tbh. This really puts things into perspective though. I guess if Gaga were to somehow win it could be another Joaquin type situation. I mean not to compare the two movies, but the circumstance. Like the movie isn’t really a hit with critics, but potentially a BO “hit” and maybe audiences like it. Idk I am just rambling now.
I see the possibility of the film getting award nominations with bad reviews, but it would need to be a hit with the audience. The problem is that this pandemic is difficult.
Not to mention that the reviews can bring down the hype (which is great, the movie hasn’t left trending tipics for two days)November 5, 2021 at 9:13 am #1204559250Matt Neglia said that he watched HoG but wont review until embargo is lifted. I really hope that his thoughts on the movie are reflected in his rankings. Because he has HoG at #4 in BP and Gaga at #3 in BA.
November 5, 2021 at 9:15 am #1204559263So if the embargo does not lifted on Tuesday, It’s red light right?
