I swear it’s been ‘over’ seven or eight times in the last week.

Natalie Portman had an actual ballerina who worked on the film in an official capacity repeatedly sabotage her during the height of award season. The story went mainstream but it didn’t affect her much in hindsight.

This is just some random Italian lady who was asked to work with Salma Hayek for a few days because the film didn’t have a dialect coach on staff. Outlets are posting it for the clickbait headline but I doubt anyone’s taking it seriously.

The woman also auditioned to be part of the movie and she didn’t get the role, she sounds pressed, very unprofessional behaviour.

Gaga had accent coaches as well on the set and we all saw the video comparison with Patrizia accent like thousands of times.

Lol, people have been saying things about the accents since the first trailer dropped and it hasn’t stopped anyone from loving the movie. No one’s going into this thinking, “oh boy, I hope the accents are perfect, otherwise I’ll hate it”.

Yeah, I’m not seeing anybody care about this at all.

There’s a BAFTA screening happening in LA the night before the review embargo lifts. It seems to me that MGM is trying to get in as many official screenings with voting members and critics before the embargo lifts the next day. Smart tbh.

So she’s being nice about the celebrity she met and who paid her some attention and dragging the superstar who doesn’t know she exists lol

People are so easily bought. It’s funny seeing the film critics gush over the celebs they meet and who are nice to them. It’s just like high school.

I don’t think the two situations here compare; and besides, the ballet double for Black Swan, Sarah Lane, did not “sabotage” Portman. She was critical of the producers and awards campaigners for 1. exaggerating what Portman was able to achieve as a dancer in merely a year and a half in order to secure her an Oscar win, and 2. by extension disrespecting the art of ballet and the countless gruelling hours that professionals have to dedicate to it throughout their entire lives. To my knowledge Sarah Lane did one interview during awards season, following which she was politely asked to shut up by one of the film’s producers until after the Oscars. Of course movie people and awards voters can be incredibly dense about other art forms and can easily feel cheated so I do sympathise with the campaign team to some degree. News interview of Lane which took place after the Oscar ceremony linked below:

This dialect coach who didn’t even work with Gaga is indeed being indiscreet and unprofessional and is rightly being called out on it.

I’m thinking 15m – 20m. If it does less than that then we can just blame it on labor shortages and say there weren’t enough employees to take all the tickets coming in from moviegoers!

We need to get this video into the hands of every Academy voter lol

Gaga did very fine with the accent. It’s very similar to Patrizia’s, just a bit polished for the big screen. You don’t expect her to sound like a savage for an international audience. Even in some internationally produced African movies, our actors are asked to brush up their accents to appeal the international audience

She was happy her ex husband was shot dead because all her problem was gone. This is one hell of a crazy woman. Like she gives no fuck whatsoever. She says her dangerous mind

Indiewire doesn’t hate Gaga lol. Let’s stop reaching. David Ehrlich, their main guy who writes for MC already said the movie is very good. So we can expect his review to be 75-80.

I feel like it gets at least 10 million, and then the most I would predict would be like 18/20 million (for the first week). I have no idea. Rated R dramas are the most difficult to predict during covid times.

Box Office Pro said in their long range forecast that they expect the film to open anywhere from $8-13M. I think $10-15M is very doable in the current market.
