AHS Hotel – she’s playing herself

Yet these 3 roles would be miles apart from eachother for any other actress so people talking like that are really just admitting Gaga has a wide range of roles that can feel natural to her.

Pls this reminded me people saying frances mcdormand won 3 oscars playing herself when the characters are vastly different and nuanced. Why does good acting to some people equal most effort?

Loving the reviews talking about Gaga and not the movie itself. It’s a smart way to not give it a bad score.

If that was Lady Gaga the entire time then you have a very questionable idea of who Lady Gaga is, on and off stage, which sinks your biased opinion even lower. That’s all I’m gonna say.

The typical comments of Gaga playing herself whatever it’s a vampire, a shy singer or an Italian criminal is always coming from people that indeed don’t know her and these kind of comments confirm it.

Chastain- 16 experts predictions Gaga- 12 experts predictions (to further note, 4 of those predictions haven’t even been updated since HoG released, they haven’t even seen it)

Good, she can stay #2 or even #1 like Carey Mulligan was #1 last year in this period.

It’s sad how quickly Gaga’s own fans are to count her out. She has everything going for her regarding a BA nomination. The impossible hurdles constantly placed onto her are ridiculous. How can you see all of these amazing reviews for her from everyone, including people who don’t like the movie, and still be like, “it’s over for her”?

Sadly even a lot of her own fans let what the haters say going under their skin.

Does anyone know where I can find top box office debuts for this year? I know Gucci is going to have one of, if not the biggest opening for a drama this year, but I want to see the numbers and I can’t find them :/

62 on RT now why is it so close to the metacritic score. Should be 70+

RT is a scam! There can be like 1 rotten score given and it will drop like 3 points, and then 4-5 fresh scores given, but the score will move up maybe 1 point. It’s literally bullshit. Also don’t understand the audience score dropping when there are nothing but positive 4/5 star reviews coming in consistently.

I believe “top critics” are weighed more heavily and there were a few rottens from top critics today. We need a few fresh from top critics!

Just got home from seeing the movie and my thoughts are jumbled and all over the place. Did I love it? No. Did I like it? Yes. Do I think the negative reviews are correct? No, not entirely.

For me the MVP of the movie is surprisingly Adam Driver as Mauricio Gucci. He gives a fully realized and interesting performance. I was very surprised by this.

Lady Gaga is excellent – however, I think the film is too slanted towards Patrizia in ways that are inaccurate (not LG’s fault, an error in emphasis and in the writing). I wasn’t as wowed as I thought I would be, I thought her performance would be more humorous rather than dramatic – based on the trailer.

Why is there only one daughter in the movie? Is this due to a legal issue? (They have two daughters).

Jared Leto is way over the top – which is sometimes a good thing, it brings energy and humor to the movie, but it can also bee too much as well.

The time jump is way too abrupt at the end of the movie ):

I wish there had been more scoring throughout the movie – too many dead spots that needed music added to the scenes.

The design elements were all excellent but not top 5 give it an Oscar nomination excellent.

    I loved the version of “Baby Can I Hold You?” at the end credits. It is now stuck in my head! (;

I have to process this movie more but these are my first impressions.

Lots of critics must’ve went and saw the movie last night resulting in the RT score plummeting from 66 earlier this morning. Here’s to hoping more who see it over the weekend like it and post their reviews. The discrepancy between its MC and RT score is strange.

It went from 66 to 61 today on RT. It’s going to be close one in terms of if this can stay fresh or not.

Knowing our luck, it’s going to bounce between 59 and 60 on RT for the rest of year. Lol.

It’s jarring to me how much it’s dropped. I get the top critic is weighed more, but I could swear that it drops way more than it rises when a top critic gives it a fresh review. I hope more critics see it on Friday and the score goes back up. I feel like it should’ve been at an even 70 for the last couple of days.

I noticed that too and thought I was just seeing things when it would fall more from a top critic rotten score than rise from a top critic fresh score. So far, the consistent pattern has been good reviews and bad reviews coming in around the same time, so I do expect it to rise over the next few days. I do think it’s gonna land in the 65-68 range.

How the critics are hellbent on trying to kill the only B.O adult drama success story this year… If the crowds really loved this and we’ll probably know shortly when cinemascore is published, there’s no reason for this to go below 60%. At least Vice wasn’t like by the crowds.

I agree. Especially with the Adam Driver praise. Driver was my favorite too. HOUSE OF GUCCI is a very good movie but, personally, I prefer other Ridley Scott movies. I loved Lady Gaga, Salma Hayek and Al Pacino. I think Jared Leto is Too Overacting!. However, Oscars love Overacting as Hell!
