Glenn Whipp in The Envelope, LA Times. Can’t get the whole article to format properly, so it’s here:

    http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/la-et-mn-en-how-they-voted-20150212-story.html#page=1

THE PRODUCER, male, 50s, white, previous Oscar nominee

    Boyhood, Linklater, Cooper, Moore,
Ruffalo, Arquette, (screenplays) Theory of Everything, Foxcatcher

THE DIRECTOR, male, 50s, white, past Oscar nominee

    Boyhood, Linklater, Redmayne,
Moore, Simmons, Arquette, (scr) The Imitation Game, Boyhood

THE ACTOR, female, 60s, white, Screen Actors Guild and British Academy of
    Film and Television Arts nominee

    Grand Budapest Hotel, Anderson,
Keaton, Moore, Simmons, Stone, (scr) Whiplash, Nightcrawler

Anybody know if the HR and EW will again interview Oscar voters?

EW said on their cover for the next issue there’ll be voters’ ballots.

The actor is voting Grand Budapest for Picture/Director but not screenplay? They must really be bummed that Nightcrawler didn’t get a BP nom.

I think the “Actor” is Rene Russo.

BOYHOOD, INNARITU, KEATON, MOORE, NORTON, ARQUETTE
BIRDMAN, INNARITU, REDMAYNE, MOORE, SIMMONS, STONE

One is an actor, one is a writer….

Maybe, she fits the criteria. Is there anyone else that fits the bill?

Sorry, but I need to se how these voters ranked the eight BP nominees. Saying they voted for X, we should all know by now, isn’t enough.

Unless my suspicion that most of them just pick one movie instead of ranking the eight is right – I wouldn’t be surprised; we all know they are lazy from all the reports about how they don’t watch all the movies.

Rene Russo is not British and I don’t think she has ever had a SAG or BAFTA nom (they don’t mention an Oscar nom either). I think this is more likely a British TV actress, probably somebody like Jane Seymour who has never had an Oscar nom? There seem to be a lot of actors who are more TV than film actors in AMPAS. I guess it depends on who you know?

She actually was nominated for BAFTA this year for Nightcrawler and got in at SAG as part of the Get Shorty ensemble.

Russo was nominated for BAFTA this year. Having said that, I don’t think it’s her either

Rene Russo: Actor (check), female (check), 60s (check), white (check), Screen Actors Guild (check for Get Shorty) and British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominee (check for Nightcrawler).

    I’m pretty sure I’m right.

    These things are always deceptive.

They don’t necessarily mean that they were a nominee this year… just that they were a nominee sometime. It could be Rene Russo or probably 200 other women.

Aaaah, this is deja vu from last year, when there were people here saying that Leo is gonna win by a landslide and posted links of academy voters voting leo. It makes no sense, even if you have a bigger margian it wont do. BD and BP is going to Birdman and rightfully so.

Birdman winning BD I can see. BP? Not really. Won’t believe it till I see the envelope opened.
