Emily Blunt came close in 2009 as well, with The Young Victoria. Fairly weak year for nominees, but she was definitely in the top 10.August 30, 2018 at 4:35 pm #1202620300
Andy Serkis – The Lord of the Rings and Planet of the Apes trilogies.August 30, 2018 at 4:53 pm #1202620308
Scarlett Johansson too, but maybe not more so than Blunt or Dunst.
i wouldn’t say that she destroyed her career but I feel like she keeps getting away from roles that could earn her Oscar nominations… I feel like Jennifer Lawrence was some kind of a new Scarlett Johansson… I mean she started getting praise from critics with movies such as the girl with a pearl, lost in translation and Match Point etc…just like Lawrence with Winter’s bone but then she started with Super heroes stuff and it’s got worse for her credibility as an actress even though she’s the best paid actress by now …

For me, it’s Robin Wright.
She absolutely should’ve been nominated for “Forrest Gump” and has given several other nomination worthy performances (“She’s So Lovely” and “Nine Lives”)…
Hopefully now that “House of Cards” is coming to an end, she’ll finally get that one movie that seals the deal.August 30, 2018 at 8:37 pm #1202620400
Hugh Grant not having a nomination is really surprising to me.August 30, 2018 at 11:25 pm #1202620449
I don’t know if Eva Green deserves one per se, but her turn in Penny Dreadful makes me believe she will get one, provided she makes decent career choices.August 30, 2018 at 11:55 pm #1202620453
Hugh Grant not having a nomination is really surprising to me.
He deserves an Oscar nomination for Paddington 2 this very year, but I think that is unlikely to happen due to the film having come out so long ago and buzz having faded since then.
Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!
Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.August 31, 2018 at 12:11 am #1202620462
Jim Carrey is the king of this thread. His lack of a nomination is absolutely gross.August 31, 2018 at 12:15 am #1202620465
The answer is always Donald Sutherland.August 31, 2018 at 1:41 am #1202620488
I was kinda surprised to learn Martin Sheen was never nominated.
Also, Donald Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, Keith David, Mia Farrow, Michelle Yeoh,
Patrick Stewart, Danny Glover & Michael PeñaAugust 31, 2018 at 11:24 am #1202620730
Regina King (Hopefully she gets nominated for If Beale Street Could Talk)
