Interesting how Defoe is only either very up in the ranking or extremely low. My raking belongs to the first category, can someone from the opposite opinion explain why his performance would be a poor one?

-Ryan Gosling – First Man (Same)
-Viola Davis – Widows (Instead of Yalitza Aparicio)
-Joan Kullig – Cold War (Same)
-Sakura Ando – Shoplifters (Same. Also, the best foreign language film and cinematography of the year. her nomination for lead would be gold)
-Emily Blunt (the performer of last year) – A Quiet Place (Intead of Marina de Tavira or Amy Adams) and Mary Poppins Returns (Also Yalitza Aparicio)
-Nicholas Hoult – The Favourite (Instead of Sam Rockwell or Adam Driver)
    -Timotheé Chalamet – Beautiful Boy
-Jonathan Pryce – The Wife (Same. Ridiculous how he got overlooked because people were too busy making drama for Close not winning an Oscar instead of actually watching the film)

The Academy really screwed up with selecting films this time.

FYC: Invisible Life (Brazil) for Best International Film and Best Supporting Actress (Fernanda Montenegro)
