I saw Ave Maria, and I thought it was completely unmemorable with less-than-one-dimensional characters! Am I crazy, or should I be following the herd with this one. Last year I went against the herd in way too many categories and wound up getting 12/24 correct! I also think The Revenant will win both Sound categories, Mad Max will win Visual Effects, and Claude Lanzmann will win Doc Short. Is that too many upsets? Am I overthinking this?! Please let me know your thoughts, especially if I’m overthinking Live Action Short and it’s obviously Ave Maria or not?

Out of all the live action short films Ave Maria is by far and away the worst. It felt really unnecessary and pointless. I think people shouldnt count out Stutter, since it is the only one in English. In a perfect world, Everything Will Be Okay would win though

Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.

You are not crazy. I have Ave Maria in 3rd too (or we both are, lol).

I think people shouldnt count out Stutter, since it is the only one in English.

In 2014 the winner was Danish though.

I’m between Shok and Stutterer. Currently I’ve Shok.

I know that, but I think we shouldnt count out the one that is the only one that is 100% the first language of 99% of the Academy

I’ve moved Ave Maria to last. I think Stutterer will win. It was heartfelt and left you with a feeling of optimism, unlike the also great Shok, Day One, and Everything Will Be Okay.
