I am surprised that this category isn’t already at the SAGs by now. I wonder which films would’ve been nominated if such a category existed?

FROZEN II (Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, Jonathan Groff, Evan Rachel Wood, Sterling K. Brown, Aurora Aksenes, Alfred Molina, Martha Plimpton, Jason Ritter, Rachel Matthews, Jeremy Sisto, Ciaran Hinds)
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: THE HIDDEN WORLD (Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, F. Murray Abraham, Cate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Justin Rupple, Kristen Wiig, Kit Harington, Olafur Darri Olafsson, David Tennant, Gerard Butler)
THE LION KING (Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, Florence Kasumba, Keegan-Michael Key, Eric Andre, James Earl Jones)
MISSING LINK (Zach Galifianakis, Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Fry, Timothy Olyphant, Emma Thompson, Amrita Acharia, Matt Lucas, Ching Valdez-Aran, David Walliams)
TOY STORY 4 (Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key, Madeleine McGraw, Christina Hendricks, Keanu Reeves, Ally Maki, Jay Hernandez, Lori Alan, Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Blake Clark, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Jeff Pidgeon, Bonnie Hunt, Kristen Schaal, Timothy Dalton, Jeff Garlin, June Squibb, Carl Weathers)

May the best of your todays be the worst of your tomorrows.

I wouldn’t expect a group called the Screen Actors Guild to award voice acting. I suppose you could make an argument that it is, but either way, there is a separate body, the Hollywood chapter of the International Animated Films Association, that awards animated films, including voice acting.

They sent the Lion King this year. I dont really see much of a point of it. It would just be the same animated films that are nominated at every other award show. And then once you do that it opens the door to motion capture and CGI performances. So yeah, no.
