I looked all over internet and couldn’t find a right answer.
By the time of the next year ceremony, Eilish will be around 20 years and 90 days.
The only people that I know that won an competitive Oscar younger than this are Tatum O’Neal, Anna Paquin and Patty Duke.
Adele, Sam Smith and H.E.R. all won around 23/24 years old.
Do we know anyone who won at the age of 20, or even 25 years or less in non-acting categories?October 8, 2021 at 9:15 pm #1204510149
That would be hard to find out. Sometimes those short film winners are pretty young. If you google you just find actors listed on the youngest lists.October 8, 2021 at 9:27 pm #1204510161
Markéta Irglová (born February 28, 1988) won Best Original Song at the 80th Oscars (February 24, 2008), just 4 days before her 20th birthday.October 8, 2021 at 11:54 pm #1204510245
That song is so bad. If it wins I give up. I wish they’d bring back the belters. We need done Shirley bassey type vocalsOctober 9, 2021 at 12:33 am #1204510271
Billie Eilish won’t win.
Beyonce will win for her song in King Richard. Who doesn’t love Beyonce and who doesn’t want to give her an Oscar? Besides, King Richard will be a much stronger Oscar contender and Beyonce is a veteran (exactly the kind Oscar voters love to vote for.).October 9, 2021 at 12:58 am #1204510276
Not saying Bey can’t win…. but you say this as if Diane Warren didn’t just lose to H.E.R. Billie is being a little underestimated imo.
I mean you are right Babygirl 😀 and Eilish can win but Warren losing was because (a) Judas was a really really stronger movie than The Life Ahead that couldn’t even get Sophia Loren into Actress (b) Lo Si is not a song everyone would have heard mainly because not everyone would have seen The Life Ahead. Most would have seen Judas (c) while Diane Warren is a legend, she’s not as popular as Beyonce is.
Another thing working against Eilish is that the song has lost the “IT” factor now..it released so long ago that people are kind of done with it.October 9, 2021 at 2:22 am #1204510312
His song is really awful. I don’t remember a James Bond song as weak as this one.
My money’s on Van Morrison and his “Down to Joy” for the film Belfast which takes place in his hometown.October 9, 2021 at 5:19 am #1204510397
It’s not worse than the ridiculous Sam Smith song (one of the most undeserved Oscar wins ever, in any category), but yeah, it’s not on the same level as “Skyfall” and “You Know My Name”
The Academy doesn’t care about this category. They will just default to Billie Eilish like they did to H.E.R and Elton John.October 9, 2021 at 6:23 am #1204510466
Since the song was released it has honestly felt like a Billie win is inevitable. She’s incredibly buzzy right now as an artist and her film is one of the biggest (if not the) biggest blockbusters of the year. Even though it’s not a big Oscar player, it’s going to be watched and talked about by voters through the voting period. Beyonce is the only one who seems like a plausible opponent but I can see her go the Leslie Odom-Jr. path.
The song coming out eons ago isn’t going to make much a difference when Elton John beat Cynthia Erivo.
FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.October 9, 2021 at 7:08 am #1204510508
WotW was a fantastic Bond song and win but people are not ready for that conversation yet. NTtD is also good, not great though, so I could easily see it slipping away over the course of the award season Speak Now-like. Star bonus isn’t gonna help much against Beyoncé.

It’s resurging a bit on streaming services like Spotify so this is not true.
#49 United Kingdom
#70 Czech Republic
#92 Hong Kong
#49 United Kingdom
#24 Czech Republic
#58 United Kingdom
#59 United Arab Emirates
#88 Hong Kong
#108 Saudi Arabia
#163 British Virgin Islands
If any other song was doing these kinds of numbers, we’d be calling it the undeniable frontrunner (nevermind a song that already peaked 20 months ago and the artist put out an entirely album in the interim).
It’s yet to re-enter any North American’s markets but I imagine that will change soon this the film itself only just released in NA yesterday.October 9, 2021 at 8:48 am #1204510690This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 9, 2021 at 9:30 pm #1204511389
