Christopher Nolan’s next movie – an outer-space sci-fi called Interstellar – was announced a few months ago.
Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway have been cast.
Jessica Chastain is now in talks to star – http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/jessica-chastain-in-talks-for-christopher-nolans-interstellar/
We know that Nolan likes to cast his usual actors in most of his movies, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Caine (who has appeared in all of Nolan’s films) cast in roles soon.May 2, 2013 at 5:57 pm #100849
And DH reports that Jessica Chastain is likely the third lead actor.May 2, 2013 at 7:12 pm #100850
Well well well! Kip Thorne is one of my heroes. Any colleague of Sagan’s and Hawking, I’m gonna read. He’s def my kind of geek. Couple him with Nolan, and I’m THERE.
Let’s see what happens. Hopefully Chastain will keep her dyed hair OUT of the ‘equation’. It’s gotta be over her pretty little head anyways.May 2, 2013 at 9:36 pm #100851
Glad to see Chastain hop on board. Nolan usually doesn’t give actresses compelling characters to play, but after watching Hathaway as Catwoman in TDKR, I’m curious to see what he’ll do with Chastain.May 3, 2013 at 7:47 am #100852
BORING CAST.May 3, 2013 at 8:25 am #100853
I love the casting of Jessica Chastain. I’m a little surprised that he didn’t get Marion Cotillard. Or could there be three important female characters? I was already on board months ago when I first heard about it, so no casting choices could steer me away. This is right up my alley.May 3, 2013 at 10:42 am #100854
BORING DIRECTOR.May 3, 2013 at 11:04 am #100855
LOL, j/k… 😉May 3, 2013 at 12:54 pm #100856
Love his movies. Michael Caine apparantly signed on as well according to the internet.May 3, 2013 at 1:46 pm #100857
As was expected (by me at least), Michael Caine has signed on. Perhaps this could be his Oscar nomination of the decade (he has been nominated every decade since the 60’s or 70’s)? http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/michael-caine-joins-christopher-nolans-interstellar-cast/May 3, 2013 at 1:52 pm #100858
Only one of Nolan’s movies received an acting nomination.May 3, 2013 at 1:55 pm #100859
True. And to the person who said that Nolan does not write interesting female character, to be fair, none of Nolan’s characters are particularly interesting as he often focuses on plot and concept before characters. His only interesting characters to date have been The Joker, and to a lesser extent, Catwoman and Leonard Shelby in Memento.May 3, 2013 at 2:40 pm #100860
I expect to see Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon Levitt as well.July 6, 2013 at 8:26 pm #100861
The major casting looks to be in place:
All have been confirmed. Could these six be the six members of the primary team that the film centers on? Regardless, I think it’s a great cast, and I can’t wait to hear more about the parts they’ll be playing (other than McConaughey playing a doctor/scientist). I’m particularly excited for Affleck, who I think is amazing and deserves more mainstream recognition.August 29, 2013 at 8:05 am #100862
Variety is reporting that Matt Damon has joined the cast in a supporting role.
The incredible cast so far:
