    No.

Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Vanessa Redgrave, Helen Mirren, Kate Winslet, Julie Andrews, Emma Thompson, Elizabeth Taylor,  Audrey Hepburn, Julie Christie and Tilda Swinton are all far superior.

Member of the Screen Actors Guild. Inducted in 1999.

Audrey Hepburn, Vivian Leigh, Tilda Swinton, Helen Mirren, Kate Winslet, Judi Dench, Vanessa Redgrave are few who are superior to Colman. That doesn’t mean Colman isn’t at par. But saying she is the greatest is exaggeration.

No. Stop being so obsessed with my queen. Can we not do this kind of thing? “Is A the best? Is B the worst?” Boring.

Nope, let’s see her in a romantic role. Unhinged is her forte.

Greatest of all time? No. Greatest still working today? Not number 1 but she’s probably in the list. Greatest to blow up in the last decade? I’d be personally inclined to say yes. She’s at least up there.

I would say Vanessa Redgrave is the greatest ever.

Ranking this sort of thing is both impossible (as so much of this is subjective) and disrespectful to all these incredible actresses.

I’m sure she’d laugh at this claim…maybe to millennials? I love her but hell no…she’s worked hard in TV and indie cinema and was lucky enough to have a quirky Oscar bait breakthrough. Her afterglow is still strong. Emily Watson is a more talented actress but hasn’t been given the same opportunities of late because all the plum roles go to Streep (USA)/Colman (UK)…it is what it is

    FYC:

Zar Amir Ebrahimi - Holy Spider (Best Actress)
Ana de Armas, Julianne Nicholson - Blonde (Best Actress, Supporting Actress)
Samantha Morton - She Said (Best Supporting Actress)
Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin (Best Supporting Actress)
