Directed by Clint Bentley – who is also co-writer and co-producer. Having been picked up earlier in the year by Sony Pictures Classics, the release date has now been set for the 29th of December.

Reviews have been great so far, with particular praise going to the performances of Collins Jr. and Parker. Hoping this could be an unlikely late-breaker in Actor and Supporting Actress if it gets the necessary critical backing (as well as a push from SPC).

Molly Parker should’ve already been a nominee last year for Pieces of a Woman. Hoping for some critics awards for her this season.

A Negroni. Sbagliato. With Prosecco in it.

Did you see it at Sundance? If so, what are your thoughts on the film and the performances in it?

I can’t wait to see it – I know Molly will snap as she always does, but I’m interested in seeing Clifton in a lead role for once.

After Sundance – been v happy that Sony Classics has been treating quite well in the fall fests.

Collins, Parker and Arias are all excellent, and Clint Bentley gives this film such life. A gem.

I attempted to watch this at Sundance earlier this year and fell asleep. To be fair, I was trying to screen way too many films. However, as I was watching this one, I felt bored. It was very slow-paced and felt small. Clifton was good, but I do not see an Oscar nom coming.

I think the Lead Actor competition is WAY too big for him to get in with a small indie film. Plus there are sooooo many Hollywood names to pick from… Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio, Andrew Garfield, Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Peter Dinklage, Adam Driver. That’s 10 names with higher profiles and/or bigger projects than Jockey.

Clifton will have to settle for a Independent Spirit nom.
