It seems like it’s going to be a little less socially-focused this time around, if only a little. Keep in mind that the role Steven Yeun plays was originally going to be played by Jesse Plemons, so if he turns out to be an antagonist or something race doesn’t seem to have much to do with it.

The role could of been rewritten

A little bit of Magic never hurt anybody.

Honestly whilst I thought Get Out was a stronger film, I found Us a riveting piece on class that used the horror genre in quite an original way to display its messaging and thought that Nyong’o gave the performance of a lifetime in it. I don’t really understand the criticism behind it.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")

bc while watching movie you enjoy it and then when you leave and think of storyline it makes no sense with huge plot holes. Lupita was great in it but movie had super major plot holes. It gave first draft vibes

While many see it as a sophomoric slump, I wouldn’t be surprised if Us eventually got the Vertigo treatment in 50 years and regarded as Peele’s best film.

At any rate, I’m very glad to see that Michael Abels returned as the composer for Nope.

We’ll agree to disagree on that (I thought it made sense for certain arcs to be left open ended following the conclusion of the final act with) but I just want to say that I really appreciate that you’re descriptive with your criticisms about the film. It feels like a rarity with film and television critique on boards like these that are dominated by simplistic phrases like “it was average” so thank you for the enlightening response.

I’m very excited for this film. It looks interesting, taking an Alien Angel here. So I’m definitely excited. I loved both Get Out and Us, so I have high hopes for this one. I would have given Get Out Best Picture and Best Actor in addition to its Original Screenplay win and Us should have been nominated and won Actress and Score. Jordan Peele’s movies are just so interesting and well made!

I WANT it to be aliens. But Part of me is thinking that is entirely too obvious. Which leads me to my theory: What about something else not aliens from the sky like angels/some kind of god/hell even animals that can fly/dinosaurs that can fly? Maybe meteors? I am probably reading too into this lol.

I could see it somehow being a Jordan Peele version of “The Rapture”.

I mean, Us had plenty of Christian symbolism.

Has anyone read about this? The Page Six article is concerning. I hope he’s ok.

    From Page Six:

The Post has confirmed from multiple sources that Heir was by Kaluuya’s side as he filmed “Nope,” his second horror movie with director Jordan Peele after 2017’s “Get Out,” in California last summer.

Last month, Matt Belloni of Puck News reported: “Holiness’ behavior during the filming of Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope,’ in which Kaluuya stars, caused people on set to be concerned about her influence over the British actor.”

“People on the ‘Nope’ set were very concerned that Heir had ‘taken over’ DK’s life and all decisions had to go through her,” said an industry insider. “I’ve heard there were multiple blow-ups and the production people were afraid of her.”

Puck also reported that Kaluuya, 33, had fired his powerful talent agents at CAA, which reps such A-listers as Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Reese Witherspoon. He signed with the agency in 2018 shortly after filming “Get Out.”

A CAA spokesperson told The Post: “I can confirm that Daniel Kaluuya is not a client of the agency.”

One source who knows Kaluuya well told The Post that the star had also sacked his stylist and multiple assistants at the behest of Heir Holiness.

I enjoyed Get Out and US, but I find myself not interested in Nope as of yet.
