Lol a $152m domestic gross at its third week is bad WOM. Lol the trying in this thread and the total misunderstanding of box office is really juvenile.
Juvenile?! It had a big opening week end that’s why the movie have 152 million. A 60% drop is not good and anyone could tell that. Once the hype is gone, people really see that this movie is not that good

We all know that horror movies don’t do as well as regular movies because a lot of religious people won’t support that and a lot of people don’t like getting scared so it’s still very impressive that it’s pulling those numbers with a good majority of people choosing not to see it. I personally watched it by myself and then had to ask at least 15 people if they wanted to go watch it with me and 9 of the people that I had asked didn’t want to because of religious/ not wanting to be scared reasons.
Second of all- I feel like you wouldn’t be degrading this movie if Jordan Peele didn’t say that he doesn’t see himself casting a white lead. You weren’t really on this thread talking about the movie until you talked about Jordan Peele being “racist🙄”. Have you even seen the movie because you haven’t talked about the content itself just that the director, according to you, is an awful person and that the box office isn’t that well. Not calling you racist but it’s a little suspicious that what he said offended you that much that you had to come into a thread that you haven’t been apart of and degrade the movie!

Are you DUMB? It had a big opening than most horror movies that’s not a sequel or an adaptation, so of course its drops are going to be bigger. Most horror films drop over 60% in the first week. Us did not do that. It is the third week and has just now, by estimation, dropped by 58%. It’s global gross is $216 million.
I have to bold and capitalize for you because you don’t pay attention to SHIT. You don’t understand SHIT about box office. But you also believe reverse racism is real so there lies the idiocy.

You may be inclined to YOUR own opinion but all this talk about the film being not good is ridiculous when it has critics raving for it, and the film having bigger opening than most horror films. It also has potential to reach 200 million in BO numbers, if not almost.

Lupita was indeed mind-blowing, so I can see a scenario where she does what Collette couldn’t and land a Best Actress Oscar nomination. Peele might get in for Original Screenplay as a continuation of his winning streak and box office success. Maybe both, one or the other, or completely forgotten about by end of the year. Editing was sharp, memorable modern-day costuming, and great makeup work done for The Tethered. Just greatly underwhelmed for Peele’s follow-up.
