I just rewatched this film last week. While I’m not a big fan of the movie overall, I do love Juliette Binchoche’s performance. My question is, why was she campaigned in Supporting? Honestly, it feels like she has more screen time than Fiennes and Scott-Thomas and Dafoe. She has all of her scenes caring for the patient and her own love story with Kip (Naveen Andrews). Also her scenes at the opening of the movie in the hospital and on the bus.
Were people upset that she won Supporting for pretty much a leading role? It truly is a beautiful and powerful performance.
