I think Kidman can get in ahead of Foy. First Man is continuing to lose momentum and steam and less and less people are discussing about this film so it hurts her chances.

If the movie and Kidman campaigns more, she could sneak in. Plus she needs to be in at least three of the pre-cursors.

Precursors would of course be helpful and yes, campaigning is basically a must at the Oscars, but Kidman is a more respected and well known name in the industry than Foy so she probably has a better shot, especially given voters may not see all the movies.

I just took out Foy everywhere and put in Kidman. I hear more about Kidman in “Boy Erased” than I ever heard of Foy in “First Man.” Also, I have Stone and Weisz getting in everywhere as well; there is no way they are nominating the one but not the other.

Agreed, I have pretty much done the same too.

The pre-cursors will help me determine if I should go for Kidman over Foy.

I suspect if Kidman misses both categories this year the next time she’s seriously in contention possibly for the Fox News movie in supporting actress she’ll sweep the season for being denied and being overdue for a second win and fifth nomination overall.

Well the pre-cursors laughed at you and told you to go with Margot Robbie

BAFTA may nominate her. Globe, Critics, and BAFTA support maybe enough for a nod. Hardly betting on two anymore.

I doubt she earns a single nom at BAFTA. She’s still very much plausible in Supporting Actress, given the clown car that exists for that fifth slot, but I don’t think Lead is happening.
