Giving performances that are unquestionably among the best of the year yet being snubbed anyway? Indeed.

Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.February 3, 2022 at 6:46 am #1204769843If the Oscars were actually about quality then Kidman, Gaga, Chastain, Bardem and Leto wouldn’t be in the conversation for awards. Kristen will be fine. She got career-best reviews and her first Golden Globe and AACTA nominations.

I agree about Leto but not the rest. Oscars are about popularity. It seems Kristen Stewart is too shy in real life for the voters. Most of the voters want a charismatic man/woman. The good news is she always get work easily

She is like Robert Pattinson but in woman

Despite being the most acclaimed performance of the year her movie wasn’t seen and too offensive to the Royals who have many industry connections. But we all know the critics have better taste than industry, I’d rather align with them than popularity and BO receipts anyday…

But you need a balance. You need some popularity and some critics. The greatest cases are Leo, Matt Damon and Joaquin Phoenix. Successful at All.

Preach. I’m so tired of people bringing up BO and acting like a film that does well at the BO deserves awards. High BO doesn’t = a good movie. I really hope the BA lineup next year isn’t as underwhelming as this year’s .

The names you mentioned all have had longer careers with many industry nominations between them for a mixture of popular and arty projects their entire careers. Stewart hasn’t been popular to general audiences since the franchise that made her famous, no box office hits since then because she has chosen mostly a more arthouse career which the industry doesn’t care about. There is no evidence the industry approves of her career despite recent acclaim which will be confirmed on Tuesday.

There are plenty of questions though.

I agree. She is too arthouse for Hollywood. She could change though. She needs a Facebook/Instagram like Vanessa Kirby, Jodie Comer and every Millenials
