In the trailer Carell was listed first and seems to have the meatiest part. Cranston is definitely lead and Fishburne is definitely supporting, with Carell going either way. I think he could get away with going supporting. Before the trailer I was predicting Cranston and Carell to get in but now I’m thinking just Carell. And I agree that this is a strong Adapted contender.

Simply based on the trailer, it seems like Carell would be lead before Cranston. His name was listed first and the other two are coming together to honor Carell’s son. But stranger things have happened. Whatever does happen, he won’t go in the same category for this and Battle of the Sexes, as has been previously stated.

The trailer looks great, and it’s Linklater so I’m sure it will be very good. I’m not sure this will do that well as far as Oscars go, besides Boyhood Linklater has never been an academy favorite, though there is that military aspect of this movie that a lot of the older members could love. I think Carell is probably the most likely actor. It looks like he’s the true lead from the trailer, but Cranston is probably lead too. I’m guessing Cranston will fraud into supporting.

Since Cicely Tyson will be in this film, I wonder how much material she will have. She’s not in the trailer, but she’s mentioned in some articles about the film with Steve Carrell, Bryan Cranston & Laurence Fishburne.

Thanks. I often forget because everyone suggest her for the honorary and sometimes you just presume that means you’ve never been nominated.

This film will be at opening night of the NYFF & will be apart of the BFI London Film Festival. Hopefully LFF is a hit at both festivals. LFF is a comedy-drama that will have 3 big actors (Carrell, Cranston & Fishburne) in it.
Could LFF be a ensemble contender at the SAG Awards? and How big will Cicely Tyson’s role be in LFF?
