From here I never saw her as a threat to win.
I’ll check that link just to see what everyone was thinking.

If Gaga had won the Globe she would propably take SAG and sheepish Critic’s Choice too. Colman would have still won BAFTA and the Oscar tho.November 12, 2019 at 4:20 am #1203175746
That’s probably true. I checked out the rankings and I can see the very different perspective I had. Cooper I was sure would be nominated, but I didn’t have him winning nor that he was even second.
Colman seemed obvious to me from fairly close to the beginning, and when I saw her in the Lead category it didn’t occur to me that anyone doubted her placement.
I find this very interesting. I go my own way regardless, but I might have been influenced had I been in this collective environment.

1) Cooper was the favorite to win Best Actor we know how that turned out.
2) Gaga was the favorite to win Best Actress, we know how THAT turned out
3) Mahershala Ali swept. He was in the Best Picture Winner
4) King was the Favourite but her awards run was all over the place. She wouldn’t have won with a tougher category.November 12, 2019 at 4:51 am #1203175772This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.November 12, 2019 at 5:11 am #1203175774
<p style=”text-align: left;”>The fact that Driver is considered the frontrunner to win right now makes me think that Phoenix will win the globe and steal Driver’s momentum, just like Malek did to Cooper and Bale last year. Same thing for Actress. Everyone’s expecting Zellweger or Theron to win, but I think Johansson takes it.</p>
It’s possible that all 4 of the acting winners at the Globes could be upsets actually. I have Pacino predicted to win over Pitt (still not sure why Pitt’s such a massive frontrunner) and still have Dern predicted to win right now, but Robbie or Pugh could potentially snatch it.

Gaga was the assumed frontrunner, but I knew Close was taking it.
Cooper’s win was one I was confident about. Oh well

The favorite was my front runner for screenplay and best picture comedy last year. This year for me OUATIH is the same thing (screenplay and picture comedy).November 12, 2019 at 8:01 am #1203175951
King was the Favourite but her awards run was all over the place. She wouldn’t have won with a tougher category.
Right? She swept everything under the sun that was not voted by the industry people. The Big Three Critics awards, the second and third tier critics awards, NBR, Golden Globe, Independent Spirit, Critic’s Choice…
But when it came to the industry she wasn’t even nominated. Snubbed by Sag, Bafta and AACTA. Idiots.
She still won that damn Oscar though and that’s what matters. Total Queen.November 12, 2019 at 9:24 am #1203176099
Yup, as people have said A Star is Born was expected to sweep. There were some rumblings about Bohemian Rhapsody but it wasnt a fave at all as you can see by the odds with it in last place.November 12, 2019 at 11:17 am #1203176271
Last year, like every year, was all guesswork until the first major televised award show. Until then, we do not know which sails have the industry wind behind them, and which wins are wishful thinking on a message board.
