<i>American Hustle</i> has three leads. Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper are both just as prominent as each other (and neither deserved nominations). Amy Adams is the least prominent but she still plays a key role in the narrative structure of the film.

A great peformance, but it was kind of category fraud in the same way as Brad Pitt or Mahershala Ali. And, like those two, I think he deserved in win in this category for his performance – controversial as that take is haha.
