This is a campanion poll to go along with my love or loath poll for her win in this movie. After watching the movie again after a while it still remains one of my favourites of all time but I truly forgot how small screentime Frances has in this movie. Obviously she is the protagonist but she has the least screentime while the two main antagonists Stave Buscemi and William H. Macy have a lot more screen time than her, so in my opinion she is supporting but Indont mind her win in lead. What do you all think?

But she definitely has the character that stays with you the most and her performance was really good. I would say she’s lead but I would’ve been totally OK with a supporting placement.

All three actors should’ve been nominated, honestly.

She comes in after the first hour and the movie is only 90 minutes.

Didn’t Reese Witherspoon also appeared 30 mins later in Walk the Line and won in Leading?

His placement is often considered as category fraud. His insane screen presence can justify him being Lead but his screentime sure doesn’t

Walk The Line is considerably longer than Fargo (a whole hour longer) so it doesn’t matter as much
