Let's Recast Jennifer Lawerence's roles

So noticed that Jennifer Lawrence isn’t the best actress out there but she is award magnet and has been nominated for 4 Oscar and won 1. I wonder if a more versatile actress played her roles. (i.e how would someone like Emily Blunt or Michelle Williams played her role in Mother!). So could you guys thinks of any other ideas in the parts she played. Any and everything counts.

Hailee Steinfeld played a similar role to Lawrence’s Winter’s Bone, in True Grit.

I could see Anne Hathaway do either Joy or American Hustle. Ironically enough she was attached to Silver Linings Playbook, originally.  Additionally, I can also see Olivia Wilde and Racheal McAdams in Silver Lining’s Playbook.

I think Kristen Bell could have also done Joy.

I happen to think Jennifer Lawrence is a very talented actress and object to the creation of this thread but I will play along anyway. I wanted to pick actresses that have never been nominated for an Oscar. These could have been Oscar vehicles for them.

Winter’s Bone- Shailene Woodley or Evan Rachel Wood
Silver Linings Playbook- Mary Elizabeth Winstead
American Hustle- Nina Arianda
Joy- Taylor Schilling

I think Lawrence brings too much raw emotion for anyone else to truly bring to life the roles she has performed in the same way. Tiffany from Silver Linings Playbook was brash and layered (and deserving of the Oscar). I can see someone like Natalie Portman doing well with that script, but Jennifer knocked that one out of the park. Winter’s Bone was an indie hit and essentially anyone could probably tackle that role and put their own spin on it. Dakota Fanning, Shailene Woodley, and Emily Browning come to mind. Jennifer’s turn put her on the map, but any young actress with a decent amount of talent could probably have kickstarted their career with that film. American Hustle requires a sex kitten demeanor and a laughable over-the-top personality. Olivia Wilde or Christina Ricci could’ve showed off some of their better performance skills if given the opportunity of replacing Lawrence. Finally, Joy maybe could have seen someone like Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, or even Charlize Theron act in it.

Unfortunately, people need to admit that Jennifer Lawrence is simply a talented actress and riveting to watch. She delivers in most of her roles and does so with such personality that her roles are truly luminous.
