Beth is the only sister that hasn’t been cast yet. I wonder of Ellie Bamber or Zoey Deutch can play her. I can definitely see them as future Oscar nominees, and if this film outperforms the previous adaptations, this can be an opportunity for them to step up their careers.

This would have been perfect for Hailee Steinfeld.

Eliza Scanlen (who’s amazing on sharp objects) looks to be playing Beth.

James Norton is apparently in-talks to join the cast.

I count The Post as an anomaly especially because both Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep failed to receive individual nominations. This cast plus Greta Gerwig stands a pretty good chance.

Emma Stone is the girl who uses her experiences and imaginations while acting and she is the type of girl who blushes on someone on TV I read it somewhere so I think she can perform and can do an awesome job in this movie if Greta is really going to remake it.

So, I’d like to spare a thought for whoever will be in charge of designing the posters and press releases for this. I mean, if you think the designers of Infinity War got it made, how are you supposed to arrange the billing with this cast? (even if we assume their agents will act like civilized people).

In all likelyhood, Laura and Meryl will get the “with____ and featuring ____” type of credit, considering they’ll be memorable-to-prominent supporting cast. But then we have the guys, do you bill Timothee after all the little women or somewhere in between? Notice he may come out a (supporting) Oscar winner this year.

Then, when it comes to the little women, the best way I can think they’ll be billed is by their ratio of nomination to wins. Let’s start with Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen. I’m not sure Florence could receive an Oscar nod for Fighting with my Family this year, by Deecember 2019 she will most likely be a lead Emmy nominee for Little Drummer Girl. But by then, Eliza Scanlen will very likely be an Emmy winner for Sharp Objects. Will any of this matter?
And finally there’s Saoirse and Emma Stone. Objectively Emma is the most famous of the two and is already an Oscar winner, but Saoirse has the edge on nominations and could also earn another one this year (probably not the win, as Glen Close deserves her reparations)… and then there’s Greta Gerwig’s credit in all these.

    I don’t think so.

Ronan is playing Jo, isn’t she? That makes her first billing.

Ronan, Stone, Chalamet, Scanlen, Pugh, featuring/with Dern and Streep.

They haven’t announced who’s playing Friedrich have they?

    Guess you’re right.

But I’d still like to be a fly on the wall on the promotional material’s design meetings.

    Opposite reaction for me.
